After reading Psalms...
Genesis is the book of beginnings.
It tells the story of creation, humanity's fall into sin, God's promises, and the beginning of His plan to redeem the world through Jesus Christ.
From the first page of Scripture, we see a God who creates with purpose, pursues sinners with grace, and remains faithful to His promises through every generation.
"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth."
Genesis 1:1 (NIV)

📚 A Simple Reading Plan
Take your time.
Genesis contains 50 chapters, so plan to read one chapter each day, making this about a seven-week journey.
Don't rush through the familiar stories. Instead, look for the thread of God's faithfulness woven through every chapter.
As you read, ask yourself:
- What does this chapter reveal about God's character?
- How does this point forward to Jesus Christ?
- What does this teach me about trusting God's promises?
Keep a journal nearby. Genesis is full of themes that echo throughout the entire Bible, so write down connections you notice.

🌾 A Note from The Anonymous Disciple
Genesis isn't merely the beginning of history—it's the beginning of God's redemption story.
Every covenant, every promise, every act of grace points forward to Jesus Christ.
As you read, you'll discover that the Bible is not a collection of disconnected stories. It is one magnificent story of a faithful God redeeming a fallen people through His Son.
"I will make you into a great nation... and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you."
Genesis 12:2–3 (NIV)

Where do i go next?!
Now that you've completed these foundations, continue exploring God's Word. Study at your own pace, ask questions, compare Scripture with Scripture, and let the Holy Spirit guide your understanding. Find a good devotional that you're comfortable with. Use trustworthy Bible study tools-including AI when it's helpful-to deepen your understanding, but always let Scripture remain your final authority.
I encourage a daily habit of reading your Bible before you do anything else. It really does set the tone of your attitude and the day. It doesn't have to be a crazy long session. It can be 5-10 minutes to start daily. If you're anything like me, one day you'll discover that the hardest part isn't picking up your Bible-it's putting it down because responsibilities call you away...which to me is a wonderful dilemma to find yourself in. It makes you want to come back to it, which is a good, good thing. The only way to get closer to God is through His Word.
Think of it as God's love letter to you, because it is.
I pray that you hunger for it the way I do. Most of my days - it's the only peace I can find in such a crazy world full of distractions.
Whatever you find on here that's helpful to your journey...screenshot it, print it, share it, or save it...whatever you need. It's too important to hoard for ourselves. It's not about likes, recognition, or money for me. I want YOU to know Jesus and if my studies help you know Him better, then every hour spent creating them has been worth it. I'm all in. As I said, it's too important (and I'll add precious) to keep to myself.
The Bible isn't meant to be rushed—it's meant to be lived.
"Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path."
Psalm 119:105 (NIV)
You don't have to understand everything today. Just keep taking the next step. God is faithful to teach those who sincerely seek Him. Keep your eyes on Jesus.
