Faith in the Storm, Faithfulness in Service
📖 Today's Readings: Philippians 2:24–30 | Luke 8:22–25
⚓ Anchor Verse: Luke 8:25 — “Where is your faith?”
What happens when the storms of life threaten to overwhelm us? In today's Gospel, the disciples find themselves terrified by raging winds and waves while Jesus sleeps peacefully in their boat. With a single command, He calms the storm, revealing His authority over creation and asking a question that still speaks to our hearts: “Where is your faith?”
In Philippians, we encounter Epaphroditus, a faithful servant who nearly lost his life while serving Christ and caring for others. His example reminds us that faith is more than trusting God in difficult circumstances—it is also faithfully following Him, even when obedience requires sacrifice.
Together, these readings invite us to examine both our trust in Christ and our commitment to serving Him. We'll also explore faith throughout Scripture, remember the martyrs commemorated in the Eastern Orthodox tradition, and reflect on the spiritual discipline of Wednesday fasting.
Whether facing a storm or answering a call to serve, our confidence rests in the same truth: Christ is worthy of our trust, and no act of faithful service escapes His notice.
