What belongs to Caesar, and what belongs to God?
In today's readings, we discover a powerful truth: God is sovereign over every nation, every ruler, and every part of our lives.
Through Isaiah, the Lord declares that there is no God besides Him. Psalm 96 calls all nations to give Him glory and honor. Paul reminds the Thessalonians that genuine faith produces loving service and steadfast hope.
Then, in Matthew's Gospel, Jesus is confronted with a carefully designed trap about paying taxes to Caesar. His answer reaches far beyond money and government, challenging us to consider where our deepest allegiance belongs.
The coin bears Caesar's image, but Scripture teaches that we bear the image of God. What does it mean, then, to give God what belongs to Him?
Join us as we explore today's readings, trace their connections throughout Scripture, reflect on the saints, and examine our own hearts through prayer.
📖 Today's central question: Am I giving God a portion of my life—or my whole heart?
