🎣 Follow Me: The Call That Changes Everything
Our Daily Bread | October 18, 2026
📖 Matthew 4:18–22 | ⚓️ Matthew 4:19
Jesus was walking along the Sea of Galilee when He saw ordinary fishermen going about their daily work. Peter and Andrew were casting their nets, while James and John were mending theirs. Then came an invitation that would change their lives forever:
“Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.” — Matthew 4:19 (NASB 1995)
Jesus didn't choose these men because they were powerful, wealthy, or religious scholars. He called them right where they were. And remarkably, they responded immediately, leaving their nets, their boats, and even their family behind to follow Him.
But Jesus wasn't simply calling them to leave something. He was calling them to Someone — Himself.
In today's study, we'll explore what it means to answer Jesus' invitation, surrender what holds us back, and trust Him to transform ordinary lives for His extraordinary purposes. We'll also trace the beautiful thread of discipleship throughout Scripture, from Abraham's first steps of faith to Jesus' Great Commission.
The same invitation still stands today.
The question isn't simply whether we believe in Jesus. It's whether we're willing to follow Him.
