❤️ Ready to Forgive — The God Who Hears Our Prayers
Our Daily Bread | October 28, 2026
📖 Psalm 86:1–12 | ⚓ Anchor Verse: Psalm 86:5
“For You, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive, And abundant in lovingkindness to all who call upon You.” — Psalm 86:5 (NASB 1995)
There is something deeply comforting about knowing that we serve a God who is not reluctant to forgive. He is ready to forgive, abundant in lovingkindness, and attentive to those who call upon Him.
In Psalm 86, David approaches the Lord with humility, acknowledging his troubles and his complete dependence upon God. Yet even in distress, David's prayer is filled with confidence—not because of his own strength, but because of God's unchanging character.
David reminds us that the Lord is good, merciful, faithful, and unlike any other. He hears our cries, answers when we call, and invites us to walk in His truth.
But David's prayer doesn't end with a request for help. In Psalm 86:11, he asks something even deeper:
“Teach me Your way, O LORD; I will walk in Your truth; Unite my heart to fear Your name.”
David desires more than deliverance from his circumstances. He longs for an undivided heart—one wholly devoted to honoring, trusting, and obeying the Lord.
