The Gospel of John - Step 1 - Meet Jesus (Discover who Jesus is)

Where does someone start with over 1100+ pages?!

📖 Start Here: The Gospel of John

If you're new to the Bible, this is where I recommend beginning.

The Gospel of John was written so that people would know who Jesus Christ is and believe in Him.

"But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name."

John 20:31 (NIV)

John focuses less on chronology and more on revealing Jesus Himself—His identity, His compassion, His miracles, His teachings, His death, and His resurrection.

Whether you've followed Jesus for many years or you're opening the Bible for the first time, John's Gospel is the perfect place to begin.

🌿 What You'll Discover

  • Jesus is the eternal Word of God.
  • Jesus is the Light of the world.
  • Jesus is the Good Shepherd.
  • Jesus is the Bread of Life.
  • Jesus is the Resurrection and the Life.
  • Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
  • Jesus is the true Vine.
  • God's love for the world is displayed through His Son.

📚 A Simple Reading Plan

Take your time. Read one chapter each day.

There are 21 chapters, making this a three-week journey through the life and ministry of Jesus.

As you read, ask yourself three questions:

  1. What does this chapter teach me about Jesus?
  2. What does this chapter teach me about God?
  3. How should this change the way I live today?

Write down verses that stand out to you, and don't worry if you don't understand everything the first time. Keep reading and praying—God's Word reveals more as we continue in it.

🙏 Before You Read

Heavenly Father,

Open my eyes to understand Your Word. Help me to see Jesus more clearly, believe Him more fully, and follow Him more faithfully. Teach me by Your Holy Spirit and shape my heart through Your truth.

In Jesus' name,

Amen.

🌾 A Note from The Anonymous Disciple

My prayer is that as you read John's Gospel, you won't simply gain more knowledge—you'll come to know the Savior the Scriptures proclaim.

"He must become greater; I must become less."
John 3:30 (NIV)
